ANDERSON, SC – Lieutenant Colonel Sheri Biggs, Conservative Republican candidate for Congress, has secured her position in the June 25 runoff in South Carolina's Third Congressional District, after securing 30% of the vote in today's Republican Primary Election.
In her election night speech, Biggs highlighted her unique experience and careers in the military and healthcare, while also drawing a stark contrast with her opposition in the runoff.
Biggs' prepared remarks are as follows:
"Our nation is in trouble. Biden’s border crisis, wasteful government spending, and inflation are harming all families. There are also attacks on our Christian values through the promotion of woke ideology. Additionally, the prioritization of illegal aliens over our veterans is unacceptable.
This madness must stop. But the career politicians have done nothing to fix the problems. The career politicians deliver empty words and broken promises – time and time and time again.
I stand here today because the people of the 3rd Congressional District are tired of the career politicians’ rhetoric. We want results.
But we won’t get them if political opportunist and career candidate Mark Burns is the next Congressman.
History shows that political opportunist Mark Burns is another career candidate whose rhetoric doesn’t match reality.
But don’t just take my word for it. Listen to these new headlines about career candidate and televangelist Mark Burns.
- “GOP candidate under fire for stolen valor”
- “CNN calls ‘pastor’ Mark Burns on his lies; he walks out”
- “Mark Burns admits lying about graduating from college and serving in the Army Reserves”
Again, these are actual headlines of articles. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want these types of consistent headlines for the person supposed to be representing us in Congress. But, unfortunately, that’s what we will get if Mark Burns is the nominee.
Mark Burns is a proud Obama supporter who changed his residence just in time to run in this district – after running multiple times in another district. He is running for a title, not to serve you.
But the good news is the voters of this district can have a leader they actually can trust – with me.
For those who may not know. I am Sheri Biggs. I’m not a career politician. I’m Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard. I’m a nurse practitioner who volunteers to treat the mental health needs of our veterans, law enforcement officers, and first responders. I’m a proud Christian Conservative, wife, and mother. I’m a Bible-believing, pro-life conservative.
I’m running to heal our nation’s mental, fiscal, and spiritual health problems. I’m running to deliver results for you and provide solutions on the issues our nation faces. I’m not running for a title. I’m running to serve you, and I humbly ask for your support and vote in the runoff in two weeks.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and vote thus far. Let’s remain mission-focused and win this race for you."
